The SURriculum is five parts:
Who am I? How are U? I love U. Let’s play!
And now the fifth exercise:
Let It Go.
When I publish this, it will have been ninety days without weed. The longest I’ve gone without it in thirty years.
I didn’t plan it that way. I just kept writing essays about quitting weed and they turned into something else. But I’ve been doing the SURriculum without knowing it was the SURriculum. The whole Substack has been the fifth exercise.
But one reader’s comment about my writing has really stuck with me:
I can only speak for myself, I’m not into the SUR thing. That’s the first part. The second part is that I am into the Ben Sinclair personal realism memoir blog… I was enjoying that writing and I was enjoying following along with that story. I liked the tone. Maybe there are other readers who feel the same way.
It feels like two different stories. They feel awkwardly jammed together.. What if they both kept going but just lived in different places? There could be crossover episodes without totally losing the thread on the Low Maintenance story, perhaps.
OK. You win. I’ll make you a deal: to let Low Maintenance be a realism memoir blog and to let the SUR show have its own Substack, with occasional crossover.
From now on, we’ll only release videos on the SURstack.
Here’s the catch: Low Maintenance will now be paywalled.
To get past the Low Maintenance paywall for free, you’ll need to subscribe to SUR. Once you’ve SURscribed, you’ll be gifted a year of paid Low Maintenance.
2 for 1 for free. All you have to do is subscribe to SUR. As Mansur says....
If as of today you are already annually paying for Low Maintenance, you’ll be gifted one year of SUR, which you’ll need for exclusive clips, comments, and access to SUR.
